Quintodecimo is located in the mountains known as 'Irpinia' in the heart of the Taurasi DOCG. Endless greenery, lakes and snow-capped mountain peaks where chestnut and oak trees co-exist with organically grown grapes. Greco is an ancient variety known as the most 'red' of white wines and to have a gold/yellow color.
(A favorite of Van Gogh).
Owner, winemaker and professor Luigi Moio was born into an historical family of winemakers in Campania dating back to 1880. After an extended stay in France studying viticulture and winemaking, Luigi returned to Italy in 1994 and in addition to teaching at the University of Naples, undertook the task of winemaker at various prestigious Italian wineries. The urge to break out on his own and make the highest quality wines possible in his beloved home land became too strong to resist, and in 2001 his dream became a reality and thus Quintodecimo was born.
Tasting Notes: The wine is deeply mineral, powerful yet refined with notes of peach, apricot, quince and almond. Harmoniously balanced. An experience of perfection. Micheal R.; Eataly Vino NYC
