Tasting Notes: The Il Monticello Vermentino Colli di Luni Groppolo, from 100% Vermentino is full of fresh, floral scents, reminiscence of white flowers, balanced against a palate of ripe fruits such as pineapple and grapefruit and a slightly salty minerality typical of the white wines of Liguria. Pair with pesto pasta and seafood.
Estate History: In 1994, Alessandro and Davide Neri introduced their father's 12 hectares of vineyards to organic and biodynamic farming as well as sustainable agriculture. With this high regard for protection and maintenance of the environment, enologist Nicola Tucci and the brothers Neri produce 65,000 bottles from local varietals, mainly Vermentino.
