Tasting Notes: Hints of red roses and violets permeate the glass of the Castelvecchi Chianti Classico Capotondo. Ripe plum, cherry and blueberry wash across the palate with a tinge of spice elements.
Estate History: Castelvecchi was ruled by the lords of Monterinaldi for most of the 11th century until the 13th century. Vineyards flourished in this time. Towards the middle of the seventeenth century the name, which was then “Castela de la Pieve”, became, after the name of the owners, first “Castel de ‘Vecchi,” then “Castelvecchi”.
