Tasting Notes: The Allegrini Amarone della Valpolicella Riserva Fieramonte has imposing structure and depth. The wine is a beautifully bright, intense and compact ruby color, with very lively highlights. The nose opens slowly, dominated by red, pulpy fruit that is reminiscent of the cherries that ripen on the highest hills in the Valpolicella in July, flanked by the same aromatic herbs that sprout from the area’s dry stone walls to finally reveal a deep note of spices that range from black pepper to cloves. The palate is striking for the fullness of the mouthfeel that emphasizes powerfulness without losing verve and agility. No noticeable sugars, but well-defined non-aggressive tannins that decisively caress the palate, accompanied by a fresh, vivacious acidity that lengthens and slows the mouthfeel. The dry and feisty finish gives rise to a subtle mineral note that promises to fully express itself in the coming years
